The Truth about 14.275

(added to as I see fit, or the opportunity allows)

AN OPEN LETTER TO VE7KFM.COM

Oftentimes I've been asked exactly what my part in the mess over what could be considered the most problematic frequency on our amateur bands today. The simple answer? There really is none. In fact, most of my supposed involvement with this cadre of the worst in amateur radio has been manufactured by several people, and one person in particular.

Do a search of the QRZ forums. You'll be able to figure out quickly who it is. Who's the first person to reguarly post about anything related to this frequency? Or say, about K1MAN? Or anyone seen remotely connected to our "favorite" Canadian amateur?

Have I done my duty as a self-policing amateur and reported what I heard? You bet I have. I personally believe this is central to these folks problem with me -- that I decided to not buy into the junk they've posted over the years there and directly take them on about their hypocrisy, and hit them where it hurts -- their license to spew these lies and half-truths about a number of folks.

I do have a huge problem with the lack of enforcement here, as I do think many other amateurs. Riley Hollingsworth's "spin the dial" way of dealing with it isn't working. Now others are catching on (again, note the first folks to come in with their "opinions").

I say to those who have just recently seen the light -- welcome to the reality of the situation. To others: don't believe so quickly what you read on the Internet.

Much of what has been posted about me has been at best, a half-truth, and at worst, a complete falsity. But take fair warning -- once you take these folks on, it takes nothing short of law enforcement involvement to get them to stop bothering you (I know first hand, unfortunately).

It's a damn shame Riley just won't deal with it.
