Welcome!
Welcome to my website for my amateur radio station! My name is Ed, and my call as is W3DUB (ex-KB3JGU). I've been licensed since 2003. Since you came here, you'd probably want to know a little bit more about me. Well, here goes.

My licensing in 2003 was part of a 10-year journey into the hobby. I first became interested in the early 90's as part of getting my first shortwave radio. I enjoyed listening to, and receiving QSL cards from, the various shortwave stations. Many of the books made reference to ham radio, and I figured I'd study for the test.

In 1993 I went for my Novice license. I passed the written part, but ended up missing the code exam by ONE question. I was obviously disappointed and gave up, forgetting about it until 2003.

In an IM conversation with one of my friends, he mentioned he recently obtained his technician license. I decided to try once again, and studied and took the exam. I passed it without a single question wrong, and on March 14, 2003 I was licensed as KB3JGU.

From then until 2007 I was on again, off again with the hobby, until I got back into it, and with the code requirement dropped I decided to go for my General, which I passed in March of that year.

Since then, it's been nothing but fun (except for certain folks trying to ruin it, you know who you are -- its not working)!

Take a look through my website to find out more about me, and my operating activities!
